The Champions
In the village of Churubamba, belonging to the district of Andahuaylillas in Cuzco, peruvian women play football At
4,000 meters above sea level. Around 250 families farm and graze sheep and llamas.
Churubamba's team have approximately 30 players; they are housewives and combine housework and farming
activities with afternoons playing football and play a year-long tournament with other villages in the province of Cuzco. Photos by Daniel Silva Yoshisato
