The Last Lords of the Ocean

This is the story of a traditional fisherman named Mercedes Huamanchumo, who is a direct descendant of the Moche culture. He uses an ancestral boat made of reeds dating back to the 1st century AC.
Mercedes lives in Huanchaco beach on the North coast of Peru and struggles to survive despite the growth of industrialized fishing and the overexploitation of ocean species.
A study published in the magazine Science grimly predicted that if unsustainable fishing rates continue, all the world's fisheries will collapse by 2050.
